HMCC Updates
Like many small museums around the nation effected by the global pandemic, the Heritage Museum and Cultural Center confronts challenges that prevent business as usual.
Seeking professional advice, the HMCC Board of Directors has considered many options to address this current crisis and deliberated many hours over several months before reaching the unanimous but unfortunate necessary decision.
The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center organization is not closed. However, our physical building is not open to the public, except by appointment only, through the remainder of 2020.
We look forward to reopening in 2021 and to resume all operations in full compliance with the State of Michigan, Gov Gretchen Witmer, Executive Orders. Additionally, we look forward in continuing our collaboration with the City of St. Joseph, especially the Lighthouse Tours and ongoing permanent exhibit projects.
All virtual events continue as we are operating with the professional support of Board members and volunteers. Measures are in place including building inspections and 24-hour security monitoring attending to the building’s health and safety and the security of all donated and on-loan artifacts.
The Heritage Museum and Cultural Center is an important and supportive organization in our community. During these uncertain times, the HMCC Board of Directors take this time to reorganize and restructure to better serve our organization and community. Please visit our website for museum and event updates.
Thank you for your continued support of The Heritage Museum and cultural Center.
