VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

What a fun and wonderful place to share your talents with friends who also love local history! We welcome your help– training is available!

Walking Tours Volunteer:
The Heritage Museum hosts seasonal public walking tours around our community and at the St. Joseph North Pier Lighthouses. We’re seeking individuals with the skills to present to groups in outdoor settings and capture them with enthusiasm for our history!

School Program Volunteer:
Do you enjoy working with children? Help us with school group visits! School program volunteers can help by assisting with tours or even by developing activities for group visits. This opportunity is also perfect for college students looking for experience working with kids.

Museum Store Greeter:
As a greeter in the museum, you have the important job of being the first person a visitor encounters. Museum store volunteers greet visitors, offer information about the exhibits, make sales in the gift shop, and may perform small administrative tasks. Minimum commitment is one weekday per month.

Mail Team:
We share our happenings with the community and our members through mailings of brochures and newsletters. Work with a team of mail volunteers to get the word out! If you like working with others and would like to meet people, this is the opportunity for you! Commitment varies; our mailing team leader will contact you when needed.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities or assisting our Board committees, please call Tracy Gierada at (269) 983-1191.
